spikes while they're away

they're forcing me to wear spikes for the two weeks they're away, every day from when i wake to when i sleep.
they have seen first-hand the damage the spikes can do when worn for just 2 or 3 days, at which point they became very concerned about the health of what is between its legs and stopped making it wear spikes.
after some time, their reservations seemed to switch from concern about its health to not wanting to have the damaged skin inside them when we fuck. which is reasonable.
i don't know if they've had a change of mind. i don't think it's that they didn't think about it. maybe they actually don't care what state the thing is in when they come back because they aren't going to fuck it — though this one seems less likely as they really enjoy fucking it and clearly don't want to stop.
perhaps the most salient point is that we know they're not going to be interested in domming while they're away because they're in a bad position and in crisis, but they haven't told the toy to stop wearing the spikes. so, then, it's a dynamic that is expected to proceed even while they're away; it's not just that for when they're turned on and paying attention.
they did say the other day they wanted to take the dynamic seriously and expected the toy to do the same which aligns with this.
